I've got £20,000 of credit card debt - how can I clear it?

I'm in my late twenties and find myself in a situation where I have about £20,000 in credit card debt. This started when I was at university and needed help to make ends meet, and for the past few years I've used credit cards for daily expenses at the end of the month, as well as some big purchases like furniture. If I'm totally honest, I have used it for a few things I don't really need as well. I usually just make the minimum payments each month, but I've just got a pay rise at work and want to start paying it off. Where should I start?

It is nestled in the picturesque village of Tolochenaz, near Lausanne, and offers a glimpse into the private world of one of Hollywood's most famous icons.

Everyone in the financial world has a theory about Trump's mayhem. At lunch with a senior insurance executive, I was assured there was method in the madness.

Fears that Trump's new trade tariffs could trigger a global recession has sent oil prices plummeting - and drivers will benefit at the pumps.

The Bank of England is expected to cut interest rates at its 8 May meeting following the turbulence around trade tariffs.

Tariff fears wipe £14bn off UK pharma stocks: AstraZeneca and GSK tumble after Trump

The slump in drugmakers' stocks came after US president said overnight that the US would soon introduce a 'major tariff' on pharmaceuticals to force firms to relocate medicine production to America. While Trump did not provide any additional details on potential levies on pharma imports, the fear of tariffs on drugs, which are currently exempt, sparked a swift sell-off.

Britain's supermarkets have been engaged in the early stages of a price war that has already wiped billions off their stock market values in recent months.

Trump's U-turn sent Wall Street stocks surging, with the Dow Jones up 6.8%, the S&P 500 rising 9% and tech-focused Nasdaq climbing 11.5%.

Business leaders fear Chancellor Rachel Reeves's £25bn National Insurance raid could lead to tens of thousands of job losses this year.

PageGroup said the measures would result in an estimated £15million in one-off costs in 2025 but deliver around the same amount in ongoing savings each year.

Hopes of a long hoped-for revival of initial public offerings in the beleaguered market now look to have been put on ice.

My insurer left me with a £10,000 bill for air ambulance mountain rescue I didn't even

Last July, I had a medical incident while on holiday in Austria. I submitted a claim to my travel insurer AllClear in August, but the matter is still not settled. I keep receiving payment reminders from the various organisations who helped me. Having had two threats of court action, I forked out £10,000 of my own funds to settle the bills, but had little meaningful contact with the insurer. Please help.

My parents' home has 41 years left on the lease, and we can't afford to extend it: What

I have spoken to the lease company and they said it would cost in the region of £75,000 to extend the lease. This is money none of the family are able to raise. The other maisonettes in the street have recently sold for £300,000. Renting is an option, but with three siblings, that can also be complicated.

Not so long ago, there was a clear preference among borrowers for five-year fixes - but that now looks to be changing as mortgage rates are forecast to fall.

Is this the end for 4% savings rates - and what should you do with your cash now?

Trump's tariffs could be bad news for savers, who have been making the most of higher interest rates to bulk up their rainy day funds. Investors are now betting that the Bank of England will cut interest rates three or four more times this year as a result of the economic turmoil. The base rate affects how much interest savers can earn on their money. In general, savings rates rise when the base rate is rising, and fall when it is falling.

Rolls-Royce used by Field Marshal Montgomery and Winston Churchill during D-Day planning

Montgomery's 1936 Rolls-Royce Phantom III transported some of the most iconic high-ranking military figures during the war, including Prime Minister Winston Churchill, US President Dwight D. Eisenhower and HM King George VI. During its service, it was used by the commanding officer in the crucial months leading up to the D-Day invasion of Europe and still to this day boasts a very unique feature custom installed for Churchill. It will be sold to the highest bidder on 3 May.

I started making fruit juice in my mum's kitchen... now I sell to Waitrose and Gail's

George Hughes-Davies seems slightly baffled at how he's managed to grow his juice company, Daily Dose. The drinks maker sources and manufactures everything in the UK - the only juice company to do so - and uses wonky veg to do it. He hopes that changing tastes, namely the increased desire to know where our food and drink is made, will mean Daily Dose becomes as synonymous with juice as household names such as Innocent or Tropicana

Of those set to be shuttered, 16 will be closed on Wednesday 16 April, with one branch in North Yorkshire, to be closed on 14 May.

Around 1,000 staff working in these branches will be offered a choice to move to work for any new owner or take voluntary redundancy, the Post Office said.

Saga posted a 25 per cent rise in underlying pre-tax profit to £47.8million for the year ending 31 January, driven by growth across its travel arm.

Is tax destroying the middle-class second home dream?

Owning a second home is about to become a much more expensive pursuit, thanks to a barrage of tax increases imposed in recent months. Extra stamp duty and council tax levied on second properties could mean the sums no longer add up for many Britons.

If you're getting your garden in shape for summer and want to add value to your home, think twice before splashing out on landscaping or adding a no longer fashionable pizza oven.

The average home fell in value last month as buyers factored in higher stamp duty costs, the latest figures from Halifax show.

Building society boss is paid £5.7million in just two years, reveals JEFF PRESTRIDGE - so

JEFF PRESTRIDGE: I have a lot of personal finance appreciation for building societies. They support their communities, keeping branches open in towns where the banks have long upped sticks. They are also customer-centric (some better than others), and as a newspaper we've backed to the hilt their call for the Chancellor of the Exchequer to leave our cash Isas alone. Yet societies are not immune from criticism, especially when it comes to boardroom remuneration.
